Hi, I’m Mary Helen
Licensed acupuncturist, practitioner of Classical Chinese medicine
My work is rooted in deep listening and presence, with reverence for the wisdom the body already holds. Through the lens of Classical Chinese Medicine, I see how your thoughts shape your wellbeing, how your stories are woven into the tapestry of your life, and how your capacity to heal is never lost—even when it feels difficult to access.

I meet you as a whole person, exactly where you are—not as a diagnosis or a set of symptoms to fix. Together, we listen for what your symptoms are communicating—not only to find relief, but to create space for meaningful change, deeper understanding, and a renewed connection with yourself.

I am deeply grateful for the many teachers who have shaped my journey and continue to inform the way I practice, listen, and heal.
My studies in Classical Chinese Medicine—rooted in the Yu Qing Huang Lao Pai tradition—continue under two teachers for whom I hold deep gratitude: my mentor, Ann Cecil-Sterman, and Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th-generation Daoist priest. Rooted in medical teachings that reach back to the pre-Han era, this tradition understands acupuncture as a complete system of healing—one that works with the channels not only to resolve illness, but as a lens into the deeper patterns shaping a person’s life.
Another significant influence has been Dr. Gabor Maté. His Compassionate Inquiry training deepened my understanding of how trauma lives in the body while teaching me to meet each person with greater curiosity, humility, and compassion. It continues to shape the way I listen, witness, and support each person’s healing process.
Among my greatest teachers is my young son, Silas Pearl, who reminds me each day of the wisdom found in wonder, presence, and seeing the world with fresh eyes. His way of meeting life continues to deepen my own understanding of healing.
